Gilani’s Fight
Islamabad the beautiful is buzzing with the news of change. All kinds of political birds are squealing in their own tongue as what happens next and like every year in the democratic regime, March is termed as the month of change and the tussle between the prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and the President Asif Ali Zardari is not any secret anymore.
The fight in Punjab is going on and the Zardari’s friend, the governor of Punjab is meeting like hell with the PML-Q highups and Chaudhary Shujaat has even met with the Zardari two days ago in Islamabad and there are every reasons that PML-Q would try to save out the parliament and get into the bed with PPP in Punjab.
PML-N is trying its own hand on the other hand. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to table its own bill in the National Assembly’s January 12 session to repeal the controversial 17th amendment. The decision was taken in a high-level meeting of the PML-N chaired by its chief Mian Nawaz Sharif at the Raiwand.
No matter how much Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sherry Rehman denies it, the fissures between Zardari and Gilani are all too obvious and perhaps there is no turning back for them. The question is as how much fight Gilani puts up.

Every Pakistani over the age of twelve (except Gilani) knows that the president is the real chief executive of the country. Gilani has no choice but to do what Zardari says. Either that, or resign.
