Ghani Kashmiri
Ghani was a poet. He hailed from Kashmir hence was called Kashmiri. His Persian poetry is particularly remarkable. Any anthology of Kashmiri poetry is incomplete without him mention.
Ghani used to stay out of home mostly. He had a peculiar lifestyle, locking the house when inside and leaving it open while going out. People asked why this when they came to know of it. “Assets are secured with locks. I am the only asset at home therefore I lock when I am home. There is nothing valuable in there so I leave it unlocked while going out.
I believe people must have chuckled at this reasoning but I also believe that Ghani Kashmiri might have laughed at them while they were laughing.
