Get rid of Army Officers from Political Offices
In the democracies, there is no role for the military in the offices of the elected members of the parliament. In the the proven and age-old democracies of the world such as United States, France, and England, you won’t see so many Army officers huddling in the Prime Minister or President House. It just so happens in this fatherland with this fanfare.
In Pakistan, the military officers crowd the offices of the elected leaders, and in the offices of Prime Minister, chief ministers, ministers and even the simple standing committees you would find uniforms. There simply is no sane rationale of keeping these military officers in the offices of the elected members.
The biggest presence of military staff is in the office of Prime Minister. This include military secretary to the PM; personal physician to the PM; deputy military secretary to the PM; directory security; general staff officer; ADC (Army) to the PM; ADC (Navy) to the PM; ADC (Pak Air Force) to the PM; and security officer to the PM.
As the new Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has ordered the return of army officers from the civilian institutes, he must also send these military officers from his personal staff to their original duties.
