Gay marriages legalized in India
There has been a huge uproar at the legalization of gay marriages in India. The thing I don’t understand about protests is that gay people live together and have sex regardless of whether they are married or not, so why the uproar at the legalization? Another thing is that a lot of families force their gay sons to marry a woman which is a total destruction of a woman’s life. At least legalizing will ensure that doesn’t happen to some degree.
I believe a person is born gay. Others might say that some people turn gay or choose to be gay. I have a hard time believing that, so may I dare to ask why homosexuality is a sin in the major religions of the world.
There is so little outrage against teen and child marriages that when I see an outcry against gay marriages I get surprised. Isn’t the marriage of little girls to men three and four times their age a bigger issue?
With this post I do not want to give a wrong impression. I do not support gay marriages. The term itself is wrong since marriage is the union between a man and a woman. However, there are often some questions that come to my mind concerning homosexuality which people shy away from answering.

I think this has permeated in indian culture by the west. With India trying to portray secular and liberal image to the world this is a welcome step by the developed world. Soon there shall be global laws and free travel. With the introduction of RFIDs entire populace will be controlled. Nothing to worry about. We are going to be saturated in the direction humanity chose i.e. material bliss and total vacuum of spiritual/psychic well being.

The title of this post is incorrect. Gay marriages have not yet been legalized in India. The Delhi High Court has
“decriminalized” sex between members of the same sex, which means homosexuals will no longer be arrested by the police or discriminated against. It will be a long time before the Indian Parliament allows gay marriages.

though they are coming from the closet but gay are and will remain taboo in Indian society. Delhi HC’s verdict regarding gays are puzzling us. it’s not that the gay kind of thing should not be legalize but first far more prominent issues like rights of prostitute should be addressed.
respect nature, first walk then run.
.. nice to read a good, light (by size) and unharmful article related to India.

what trash!!
no one is born gay. there is a vast difference between those people who are born with complications of such a nature that prevent them from having intimate relationships. Gays are simply sickos. They are completely normal morphologically. however their mental physiology apparently is damaged. i fully agree with Kashif.
the recent movies with major gay elements were just to make their public get used to this abnormality. an old trick tried all the time. hmm…unharmful article???lol…wonder what are the current prestige standards?!

Md.Yusha,
Well, your interpretation is wroung.Gay marriage or union use to be illegal as per Indian penal Code inherited from british. Now that law has been abolished and gay union or marriage is no more illegal in India. BTW as per Hindu religion also Gay union is approved as per the individual freedom and taste.India followed british (christian law) which prohibits gay marriage.
