Future of Lawyers’ Movement

Just Imagine that somehow the whole of 60+ judges have been reinstated including the Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary and are functioning in the Supreme Court and other courts without any further hurdle. Then what would become of the lawyers’ movement?

Will it just vanish in the thin air, or will it just integrate or will it be divided into factions, or will it remain united and will observe vigil over the independence of the judiciary? These are the questions that must be pondered upon to save this fabulous movement from disintegration.

In the absence of a strong opposition, and in the absence of a matured media, the lawyers can play a pivotal role in safeguarding the rule of law in the country. They could not only keep on reminding the rulers about their presence with their achievements, and they could also keep a soft check on the judiciary.

Future of Lawyers’ movement is very important for the future of independence of the judiciary.
