Friends Of Pakistan Again Disappoints

After getting a massive loan from the International Monetary Fund, Pakistani authorities are feeling like in the sky and as this loan is termed as the prima donna of all the solutions for all of Pakistan’s economic woes, Pakistani economic gurus are also approaching other donors with renewed energy for begging.

A “Friends of Pakistan” conference for talks with representatives of 14 countries, including the United States, China, EU countries, Turkey, UAE and Saudi Arabia, following a $7.6 billion IMF emergency loan agreed at the weekend as part of a broader economic rescue plan. The meeting was told about Pakistan’s negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, the overall state of the economy.

The real strings behind the friends of Pakistan are controlled by the bad old Uncle Sam, and this time there will be no donations or aid without the approval of US congress, which wants massive results by Pakistan. What congress wants can never be fulfilled by the Pakistan, regardless of what Zardari tells us.

as they said — it isnt a donors conference. It is to invite investment and promote projects in Pakistan.

These things take time -they dont happen overnight. Friends of Pakistan label sounds really cheesey, but we need it right now.

lets do our part by routing out extremism and making Pakistan a business friendly place. The security situation has scared not just foreigners but even Pakistani businesses.

We have so much wasted potential. Everything we could ever need is in Pakistan. We are not like these arabs who rely on oil in the ground.

If only we used our resources properly and we had a govt. that could deliver results to all people. All of you people of Pakistan must rise up and do your part for the motherland.

This is not your option. This is your DUTY. Pakistan FIRST.

hold the interests of Pakistan dear to your heart. Wherever- whenever- and however.

The stop-gap arrangements are never durable. The hard cash inflow is not only impossible because of present PPP regime’s legacy but also of the apst government where the unaudited amount runs into billions of dollars. (USD72 B!?) I think investing in projects no matter how long they take is safe for people of Pakistan. Its the same stance China has taken and probably the people of Pakistan will ebenfit for a change if not right now then maybe some years down the road.
I am not in favour of blame games and critcizing whoever is in government but atleast the lost prode of pakistani people the sense of injustice and ignored behavious of rulers towrads them must end. Their trampled upon rights must be won back. They have been abused by all. Military of Civil governments. The people of Pakistan should pin the people from whichever quarter so that their likes still dreaming to loot and plunder in future cease to think of executing their plans. Its preposterous the way leaders deal with masses in Pakistan and get away with billions. Later only their sons and heirs appear with sh* load of money to wave and win seats in senate and main stream politics without any qualification or rigma roll required to do the job.
For now, in Pakistan investments is what is required, Hard cash transactions or container load of cash will return to west under personal accounts like what have been happening in mil. or civil rule in Pakistan.

Where money is concerned, there are no friends or brothers. Even brothers kill one another for property. I sometimes think the only way Pakistan can progress is if it never gets any aid from anywhere. The rulers will then stop wasting our money on Umrahs and other junkets.

I think Pakistan should have a monarchy so looters and plunderers dont take turns; all of it stays with one family.

The only institution in Pakistan where there is power structure, obedience, and rank system is the Army.

Democracy in Pakistan means vendettas, personal gains, politicians shouting at eachother from dawn till dusk, and a handful of people selected to rule decisions. There is no such thing as democracy in Pakistan.

I propose a military government that works very closely with civilian beuracrats/technocrats. Any dissent or misbehaviour by either side results in action. What we need in Pakistan is something called ACCOUNTABILITY. No govt (Army or Civilian) has mastered this concept. People need to be assured that politicians who are corrupt or dishonest will face harsh repercussions for their actions.

The people also need a good whipping. Taxes are crucial for a developing country to run. Why are so many people –including the elite –evading taxes? Because they have their own interests as priority –whereas the main interest should be Pakistan FIRST. We need a revolution in Pakistan.

I am one of the people who will work for this revolution. Laugh at me now and ridicule me. I’m only 24 years old. But i am serious. I wake up, eat, sleep and work with only Pakistan in my mind. There are many out there like me. We will save our country. Hum saab umeed sai hai.

This is common knowledge –but here is how to cure Pakistan

1.) replace madrassahs with proper schools with proper curriculum (Islamia being one of them obviously) —- i.e. more investment in quality education
2.) try more to integrate all provinces….promote intra and inter-provincial activities
3.) revive manufacturing and industry (PML-Q neglected this aspect)
4.) invest in electricity projects, both with Pakistani and foreign firms
5.) invest in alternate sources of power –especially in tribal areas….Japanese have a very good edge on solar power tech.
6.) Continue to promote agricultural reform and tourism in Pakistan (which will only come when we improve security)
7.) Encourage overseas Pakistanis to bring back their money to Pakistan —and bring with them their technical/business skills
8.) Be more assertive and stop being scared to confront the yanks……drone attacks in waziristan are unacceptable and we wont tolerate it
9.) Subsidize medical supplies….promote over-seas doctors to educate Pakistanis on good health and hygiene
10.) Give priorirty to Baluchistan and give them more returns for the natural gas that is extracted from their province
11.) Give priority to Gwadar port. It is very strategic and the amoung of money from transit fees just from Gwadar will be incredible for Pakistani foreign reserves
12.) Instill (even if it takes brain-washing) to EVERY Pakistani of EVERY Province that PAKISTAN COMES FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
13.) Religious parties should play a bigger role in promoting peace, prosperity and hard work –and condemning any terrorist attack.

Many more that i could think of
