Release Dr. Aafia Siddiqui

Fazlullah Threatens Again

Right now, severe fighting is going on in the Swat valley, in the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan and heavy ammunition is being used. Both security forces and the Talibans have claimed to have inflicted heavy loss on each other and the local population is in immense misery.

The ongoing battle between the security forces and the local Taliban at Tehsil Matta here claimed 30 Taliban dead and several injured, while curfew for an indefinite period has been clamped in Swat by the security forces. Many have become injured and the civilian population is becoming collateral damage, and mass exodus is in the cards.

Talibans have also blown up PTDC Hotel at Malamjabba and Army rest House, while girls school at Golibagh and three bridges at Gora, Roniyal and Seej Banter were destroyed by detonating explosives. Security forces operation is in progress for the recovery of FC and police personnel, who were taken hostage yesterday from Dewlai chowki.

Fazlullah in Swat is threatening to resume the suicide attacks, and government should also pay utmost attention to that aspect also while carrying on the much needed operation.
