Family Life and Hypocrisy of the West
Perhaps the greatest irony of this century is that a civilization that has put a nude or semi-nude picture of a woman on every square inch of available space, is giving lectures on the status of women to the civilization that treats them with dignity and respect.
The greatest tragedy at the end of this century may be that the civilization that has totally messed up and destroyed the family life is now getting ready to dictate to the civilization that still has family life intact, on how to arrange its family affairs.
Today every fourth child in the U.S. is born out of wedlock. Thirty-eight percent of children now live without a biological father. 6.6 million children live with divorced single parents, mostly mothers whose ex-husbands tend to fade away from their children. Twenty percent of children in the United States, ages 6-12, have not had a 10 minute conversation with a parent in a month. Their conversation is with TV, which acts as their mother, father, baby-sitter, and teacher. By the time they are teens, children have seen an estimated 18,000 violent murders on TV. This is family life in the U.S. “Something is wrong with the entire American family,” writes Martin Marty, professor at the University of Chicago in the Los Angles Times. “One has the weird sense that America is a country with many children but without adults.”

I wrote a post and someone thought i was trying to compare a woman in a bikini with a mullah!
This world is indeed a funny and weird place. How differences in the world, in traditions, customs and ways of thinking are funny. But, none more than hypocrisy.
In Pakistan we have a million problems. We acknowlegde them and try to fight against them. We admit them and try to solve them. We don’t rant about how great we are and how free we are. We dont give lectures at things we suck at.
Maybe i should write a post ‘Bikini vs Mullah’

Something is wrong with Pakistan. A large percentage of men from the backward areas work in the cities, and their wives, not seeing their husbands for a long time, become psychos (and produce retarded children who later become suicide bombers). It’s a miracle that despite all this, the women in these areas continue to remain faithful to their husbands (at least this is what we are led to believe). Maybe some social worker should research this subject. What you are saying about the U.S. could well be happening in Pakistan. Maybe there are millions of children here who are illegitimate, considering that so many men are away from home for at least a year, (if not more) and the feudal landlords in the rural areas consider all women in their domain as their own proeprty. Not to forget the Tableeghi Jamaat men, who disappear for forty days to two years at a time, without ever considering the feelings of their wives.

tableegi jammat men dissapear for 2 years? i do not know of anyone who dissapeared for 2 years. In fact, most women would want men to “dissapear” for some time as far as i know but nobody
“dissapears” for 2 years.

Yes, Mr. Yusha, they do disappear. I had a clerk who didn’t come to work for forty days (without notice), when he came back he objected because I sacked him. He said notice was not required if a man wanted to do “tableegh”, and he had an uncle who had gone away without notifying anyone for two years and his family found out only when someone in the Tableeghi Jamat told them that he had gone to the north for preaching. If this is not “disappearing”, you tell me what is. This, in fact, is the kind of brainwashing you should be writing about, not the brainwashing of the women in the west! It is the Tableeghi Jamaat which is the greatest threat to the Muslim World, since it teaches that all Muslims should give up everything and do nothing but preach their version of Islam to those who are Muslims. I have two nephews who have become useless because they live in mosques and are unfit for any other kind of work to earn a living for themselves.
