Release Dr. Aafia Siddiqui

Excuse to Attack Pakistan

Almost we all belong to the religion Islam in Pakistan, and also majority of us want an Islamic code of life in the society. But also majority of us don’t want it in the way Maulana Fazlullah or the leaders at the Red Mosque tried to pursue.

The extremist way only leads to the mutual annihilation and its only giving lame excuses to the NATO and US forces to intervene and safe us from our own hands. There is nothing good which would come out of this mutual fighting. Whether its Swat or it’s the North Waziristan, nation wholeheartedly rejects the ongoing operation, but also nation doesn’t want some obscure Maulana Sahibans to start waging war against the state. That’s simply not the way.

America doesn’t need much of a reason to attack any country. It attacked Iraq in the name of flimsy Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs), and it attacked Afghanistan on the hunch that Al-Qaeda leadership mainly the Osama Bin Laden was present there. America miserably failed to find both in the Afghanistan and Iraq.

We need to beware that hawks in America are cooking a new ploy or excuse, whatever you call it, to attack Pakistan. They are urging their government to forget Iran for a while and focus on the Pakistan, because Pakistan has the nuclear arms which could go in the wrong hands, if Pakistan gets collapsed. Why they are predicting the collapse in the first place?

The two limited insurgencies in the NWFP are providing them these demons. They are also quoting the previously operated Lal Masjid in ample quantity. They think that these insurgencies will spread to all over the country, and then the nukes would also be captured by the extremists and than bang, the extremist will carry those nukes on their shoulders and will run towards the Pearl Harbor.

How I wish I could bring those idiots to Pakistan and show them around. We Pakistanis are as fed up with these insurgencies as anybody else. We are taking the brunt of US war on terrorism in the form of suicide attacks and bomb blasts in our cities, and we have to suffer dictatorship and emergency and ban on media and the ban on judiciary just because the present regime enjoys the ‘Asheerbad’ of godfathers in Washington.

For the record, I would like to tell America public that there is no chance whatsoever that the insurgents would ever be able to get anywhere near the nuclear weapons, even the traditional weapons stores, wherever they are. If only US withdraws its support of beating the moderate and pro-democracy faction in Pakistan, civil society will take care of every thing including the nukes and Pakistan Army is professionally fully capable of protecting its assets, nuclear or otherwise.

And Mr. Maulana Fazlullah, quench the fire not stoke it. It will burn not only you but also the great cause you think you are fighting for.
