Don’t Murder Your Soul
Anxiety pills, sleeping pills, anti-depressants, tranquilizers, drugs, alcohol, suicide………why?
Man batters his soul through sins. The soul screams. Man does not hear its cries. Man does not hear its pleas. Man does not heat its wails. It begs man to stop. And then the pills, drugs, depression and suicide.
For the soul, Allah has given the 5 daily prayers. They nourish the soul. They fulfill the need of the soul. They are food for the soul.
Deprive your stomach of food and see what happens. Worse happens when people deprive their soul of its food.

nicely written…
and i totally agree.. i’m sure everyone does!
but implementing is the hardest part!
I don’t know why it becomes so hard to follow sucha basic thing in which you believe and you know you need!
that’s where i guess we are all broken!

i think most people think that the benefits and punishment for praying and not praying are restricted to life after death.
The barakah of prayer benefits a person in all aspects of life and fills his/her heart with noor. People who don’t pray are always restless. They always seem to be short on time and everything they do goes wrong. The darkness of their soul and their heart fills them with depression.

Well… I totally agree with what you said in the second paragraph…
but as far as the first paragraph is concerned, anyone who has prayed even once with conviction knows the greatness and the power of prayers.
we know how important prayers are in our lives.
but it’s doing that steadfastly that we are not at all able to do!
I myself used to pray punctually and i remember how complete it made me feel. After praying Isha, I had the satisfaction that I’ve achieved my purpose of the day.
Then things went bad, Life fell apart. And now I see myself as a broken man..
Achievements don’t give satisfaction anymore!
And as much as I know that what’s missing in my life…
I can’t get myself to pray now!
