Release Dr. Aafia Siddiqui

Dilemma

In order to alleviate poverty from the rural areas of the country, and to improve the financial plight of farmers, ministry of agriculture in the light of direction given by government, has planned to spend millions of rupees on the betterment of water system and to increase the production of fruits and vegetables.

The main objectives of these measures is to increase the per acre production and to increase the income of small-time, small-scale farmers. In the impoverished areas, the access to the market would be increased and the cooperation will be rendered in the live-stock related tasks.

These all measures look so good and promising in the newspaper headline and look so alluring in the political gathering, but the real value would only come through, if they get implemented. The real benefit must go to small time farmer, instead of the head of the village or any other chaudary, khan or wadera.
