Decisive Time for FATA
Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani has done well so far to remain away from the political mainstream apparently and he is doing well to concentrate on the issues related to the war on terror, and himself is visiting the different exercise areas, and even to some areas where the war on terror is going on.
He is also doing well to indulge in the surgical and controlled operations in Khyber Agency, Tirah and in the Hangu areas, and he is doing a good job in Swat. The morale of the Pakistani security forces is high due to his professional and calculated approach, and he is doing well to monitor it himself.
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani should also take a leaf out of the General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani’s book and also indulge in the national affairs more, and he would do great service by coordinating the efforts between the local jirgas, maliks of the FATA area and between the security forces.
Now the decisive time has come for the war on terror policy in Pakistan and the not so new Prime Minister must play his part instead of dancing to the tunes played by Zardari House.
