Contradictory Refutations

We must not continue to live in the fool’s paradise. The forces of NATO and ISAF led by United States will continue to threaten us practically as our new leadership (Is it leadership?) lives in the looming shades and shadows of a deal brokered by the Dubya Administration with Musharraf and then with the Asif Ali Zardari and his spouse in Abu Dhabi.

The equivocation of worst kind has become the hall mark of our leaders and that is not to say the least. From top to the bottom, everyone is clueless and everyone is lying and jumping on the false positives and ignoring the obvious. That is why our leaders are constantly offering doublespeak on dialoguing with the tribals and militants. At one side they form local lashkars and on the others they carry on attacks. At one side they render spy information to US and on the other, they condemn the attacks.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s proclamation that the peace deal with the local Taliban in Bajaur Agency had been scrapped, should also be seen in this context. Alarmingly enough, the Awami National Party of the province and some other stakeholders like JUI-F have refuted it. How could anything be achieved in this context?
