Composite Sessions
The in-camera joint session of both houses of the Parliament (National Assembly & Senate) regarding the security situation on Pakistan is a welcome sign, but the way things have proceed at this point in time are not much of the thing to write home about, but the thing is that nation expects a lot from them.
Director Genreal, Military Operations and newly appointed Chief of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt. Gen. Ahmed Shuja Pasha in his briefing told the parliamentarians that so far 1368 security personnel have been martyred and 3348 injured in the fight against terrorism.
The reports are that nothing substantial was discussed and nothing was discussed in the session which would give a clue to the parliamentarian as what actually is going on and who is fighting whom and what are the internal and external factors and what is the future strategy.
The war on terror as well as the country’s defence and safety to its sovereignty should always remained the foremost priority for the participants and at the end they must come up with something solid and lasting.
