Colombo Meeting
At one side United States is threatening like hell to Pakistan and on the other hand it is facilitating talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan, which apparently are going no where, because of behind the scene demolishing lobbying of Indians, and it seems that the strings of Hamid Karzai are more in the hands of Indians, then they are in the control of Americans.
Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Afghan President Hamid Karzai met over breakfast on the sidelines of the SAARC Summit in Colombo. According to the media reports, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Sunday agreed to come up with a common strategy to tackle terrorism and extremism.
It is very necessary for the peace in the region that reservations of both countries be addressed with seriousness and in all earnest, but Afghanistan has to realize that India doesn’t want that, and hence they need to deal with Pakistan without Indian cues. Hamid Karzai must cool his heals, and stop accusing Pakistan in every thing in his backyard.
Pakistani premier should also do some concerted effort to alley the fears and apprehensions of Afghan president, and they both must adopt a confident approach to improve the bilateral relations for the welfare and progress of the billions of people living in both countries, who share almost everything.
