City District Government Karachi Deploys Pakistan’s first 4.9 GHz WiMAX Solution for Video Surveillance

Airspan Networks Inc., a leading provider of WiMAX broadband wireless access networks, announced that City District Government Karachi (CDGK) in Pakistan has successfully deployed Airspan’s 4.9 GHz WiMAX solutions for its IP Closed Circuit Television Video surveillance project in Karachi. Airspan is partnering with GCS (PVT) Ltd., a U.S. based telecommunications integrator that provides wireless video solutions in Pakistan.

According to Airspan’s Chief Marketing Officer, “This initial deployment of Airspan’s 4.9 GHz WiMAX solution in Pakistan shows how WiMAX technology is particularly well suited for video surveillance applications. IEEE802.16-2004 is particularly well matched for this application which requires flexible Quality of Service capabilities and has a high uplink demand. Airspan’s products offer a lot of flexibility not available in competing solutions at this price point”.

Airspan has a suite of products in the 4.9 GHz frequency range which is particularly well suited for security and surveillance applications around the world.
