For the first time in Pakistan, young entrepreneurs Savail Meekal Hussain, Sikander Rashid Choudry, Jehanzeb Amin and Jalal Hussain have joined forces with Pakistan’s premier intellectuals, educationists and academics to bring to the country a brand new schooling experience, the Stellar School System, which features activity and technology based learning, an interactive and integrated curriculum, in-house teacher training programmes, state of the art campuses and the revolutionary concept of no admission fee combined with affordable tuition fees.

Quick Tips For Your Exams

So, it’s that time of year again where cramming, late nights, and contempt for the system is common. However, here are some tips to help you study for the exams whether you’re in O Levels, A Levels, Matriculation, or IB, or anything of the sort.

Sticky Notes When you have long articles or notes to read, it is always a good idea to past a sticky note on the first page and write down the important points. If during the reading you find something that deserves specially attention, put that on a separate sticky note. Remember to limit everything to point-form: you aren’t writing a commentary on what you have just read. When the final time comes, and your memory is a little rusty, going over the sticky notes will help you recall significant amounts of information.

Show the Power of Ballot

It’s about time Pakistan gets on to the true line of democracy, and we need to get rid of the stereotypical notions of inviting and welcome the army to the fray. We also need to change our mindset as a voter and we need to learn to defend our democratic and basic rights values.

Now due to the stand of deposed judges and due to the commendable struggle of lawyers, we are aware of the importance of justice and democracy. Due to the rising extremism and the militancy now we are aware of our freedom. Due to the flour and sugar crisis, we know the importance of getting rid of feudals. Due to the load-shedding of gas and power now we know the value of true welfare state. All these crisis accentuated the burning and suffering of the people of Pakistan.

Pak Faqeers

At large people in Pakistan are frustrated and they are not in the mood to rejoice. Among many reasons of their unhappiness one can safely be attributed to the lack of financial relief. Many have don’t enough money to make their life easier.

Yes the over all situation in Pakistan is not conducive enough to support the money earning much, but are we trying hard enough? Are we really toiling hard? Are we really putting our all efforts? Aren’t we a lazy lot? Aren’t majority of us just want that someone come and put morsels in our mouths? We like to play the blame game, and we have achieved a mastery over that, and our leaders are a reward to us for that.

Part II - A Tribute to Education: Abbas Zaidi

Our article last week, stressed that in these recent turbulent times, all eyes are on the upcoming elections and the political chaos gripping the country. Everywhere we look, we find dissatisfaction and negativity, be it to do with the socio-economic plight or the wave of suicide bombings plunging the normal life of many a city into darkness and despair. We believe that keeping this in mind, the need of the hour is to inject a vein of positive hope - of a look to the future with promise, one that we must not allow to be tainted with the blood of so many futile deaths - but rather to use as a means to learn from, that the only way to achieve one’s goals of a sound nation is to rise above the chaos and attempt to guide the youth – the future leaders of tomorrow.

Education in Pakistan - A Tribute to Shama Nawaz

In the recent turbulent times, it seems all eyes are focused on the upcoming elections and the political chaos gripping the country. Everywhere we look, we find dissatisfaction and negativity, be it to do with the socio-economic plight or the wave of suicide bombings plunging the normal life of many a city into darkness and despair. The need of the hour then, is to inject a vein of positive hope - of a look to the future with promise, one that we must not allow to be tainted with the blood of so many futile deaths - but rather to use as a means to learn from, that the only way to achieve one’s goals of a sound nation is to rise above the chaos and attempt to guide the youth – the future leaders of tomorrow.

Importance of Language

The most important thing which I have experienced in any career is language (especially ENGLISH). If we have the language, we got this world in our feet. and we must not be only able to speak or understand, but it should be up to it’s perfection.

Our language can do many miracles. If we could be able to gain a good command over this language then, no one can stop us from success. In-fact, at this stage we really don’t have to work hard to move ahead, because automatically the crowd will push you to your desired position or status. There is a valid reason for this people’s behavior, otherwise they really don’t care. So, the reason is most of them don’t have words for presenting themselves or representing a group, or their community. This is obviously due to lack of their capability to speak out.

Why is education so expensive?

Way back in 1981, I got my three year old daughter admitted into a newly-opened private school which charged Rs. 250 per month. My father had been amazed. When I had been in school (1950-1960) the monthly fee had been Rs. 20 a month, so he thought I was paying too much. I told him that my daughter’s school was relatively cheap, as there were some schools which were charging Rs. 400 per month. But now, with monthly school fees being at least Rs. 5,000 today, how can you expect a poor man’s children to get a good education? The monthly salary of the average man of thirty (with a bachelor’s degree) is Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000 (of course, there are professionals who earn four to five times this amount, but they are very few). So it’s out of the question for the common man to get his children admitted to a decent school. For the poor labourer (who has six children at least), it’s impossible. And that’s why we have so many boys in madressahs, where they get free food and lodging. But then, knowing the kind of education imparted there, the boys who graduate from madressahs cannot live a decent life. The result of course is mass poverty.

Startup Insider Sesssions: Meeting Place for Pakistani Entrepreneurs

A missing element from Pakistan’s business landscape is the coaching and mentoring of startups and entrepreneurs. While some business schools like IBA and LUMS have their in-house incubators, and multinationals like Shell have had programs like Shell Tameer, there is always a need of a platform where would-be entrepreneurs, mentors and investors can meet to exchange tips, discuss ideas, share lessons learnt and show proof-of-concept to the investors.

Fortunately, there seems to be some light in the tunnel, thanks to PASHA, Pakistan Software House Association, and GreenWhite, a tech-blog which made its mark very shortly in Pakistani IT scene.

Practice It and touch the sky

In the life, there is no such thing as short cut which may lead to success. short cuts never pay dividends, and you simply cannot master any trade without practice. It’s very beaten cliche that practice makes a man perfect, but this is so true, that it never feels old and rugged. Practice really is something which makes a human superior to the other. It’s the gist of competition.

Any learning process, if doesn’t contain practice, never becomes successful. If any learning process doesn’t contain practice then its even useless to talk about it. And there is no concept exist like ‘bad practice’. Practice is practice and is always good. The more you do it, the more good it feels, and more benefits you reap.
