Release Dr. Aafia Siddiqui

Boucher Gives Certificate

Pakistan has been certified by the masters in Washington as the most trusted ally in the war against terrorism, or was it lackey? With the “successful” operation in the Khyber Agency and the suburbs, America has got some semblance of relief and now their tone has gone down a little.

US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs Richard Boucher has vehemently lauded the role of Pakistan in war against terror and reassured continued US support in what he termed as ‘international war on terror’. “United States and Pakistan are important allies in the international war on terror,” Boucher said, adding, “The overall US-Pakistan friendly relations are much more broad-based than just this.”

Now who knows what this broader means, but it surely sounds ominous, and to his credit Boucher has developed a knack of landing in his colony whenever something operative goes on. Now that reminds me of the Musharraf era when Shaukat Aziz was the puppet. Now only the faces of puppets have changed, the rest remains the same.
