Birth Control
No man who thinks of himself as a human being can force pregnancy on his wife. It is her right whether she wants to have children or not. If she does not want to have children at all (the case with a lot of working women) then it is tough on the husband but there is nothing he can do. It is not mandatory to have children.
At the time of Prophet Mohammad (saw) people practiced the method of withdrawal and he did NOT say it is haram. This is recorded in Sahih Bukhari for those ulama to read. The most pathetic excuse for calling the use of condoms haram is that it can be used in haram relationships. Any person with common sense knows that a person can indulge in extramarital sex without using a condom.
Satisfying one’s wife is an obligation in Islam. This does not mean making her pregnant every year. After marriage, she does not want to be pregnant for the rest of her life.

Ha, ha, ha! If a Muslim woman doesn’t get pregnant within a year of marriage, she will be described as “infertile” or her husband will be called impotent. The poor guy will have a tough time bearing the taunts of friends and neighbours. Ultimately, if his wife doesn’t produce a child even after three years of marriage, he will either divorce her or take a second wife. This is what happens in Muslim countries. Just try telling your local mullah that Islam allows birth control, you’ll be lucky if he doesn’t kill you on the spot.

Jabir, (r.a.) reported:
We used to practice azl (withdrawing the male sexual organ before emission of semen to avoid pregnancy), while the Qur’an was revealed (during the days when the Holy Prophet was alive). (Hadith no. 2608 in sahih muslim)

Here is another hadith recorded in both Sahih Bukhari and Muslim.
Jabir ibn Abdullah said: We used to engage in coitus interruptus at the time of the Messenger of Allah. News of that reached the Messenger of Allah, and he did not forbid us to do that. (Bukhari and Muslim)

when two pl marry, believe it or not, its the woman who wants to be pregnant.
no matter what she says about pregnancy before marriage, once they marry its her who want to have babies.
ofcourse most men don’t know that the reasons for that vary from house to house.
the reason may be religious, it might even be out of motherly love, but what i’ve seen mostly is that when a woman starts to feel that her man has starting to lose interest in her, she binds him closer by having babies. because once a baby is born, bam, u’re trapped. even if u start waning interest towards the wife for ANY reason whatsoever, u cant leave her for the sake of the baby. another commonly seen reason to have babies, in our society, is so that the wife can distance herself from her mother-in-law. the husband has limited time. if he tends to the baby, he gets less time to attend to his mother.
unmarried men may not understand why ppl wud want to leave a woman, but the reason can be ANY. remember divorces also used to happen in the time of the Holy Prophet.

Mr. Yusha, please don’t try to mislead people. If a wife says she doesn’t want children, her husband can divorce her immediately. While it may be true that Islam doesn’t prohibit birth control, nevertheless Muslim clerics believe that the only thing a Muslim woman is good for is to produce as many children as possible.

I am shocked! I thought i was reading something written by a mullah. A man cannot divorce his wife for that reason but yes, she should let him know that before the marriage. What muslim clerics believe is pathetic and disgusting.
Sazk, you said its the woman who wants to have babies. But then you gave the reasons why. Again, it seems like she is a commodity. She will have a baby so that her husband doesn’t leave her, she will have a baby to distance her husband from her mother-in-law. Hell, she will have babies so that he spends more time with the babies so he has less time to beat her.
