Balochistan Burns While Polling Goes On

Election 2008 have brought a unique opportunity for the people of Pakistan, and by and large people in other provinces are going out to cast their votes, but in Balochistan things are mixed.

Since the polling has begun in this turbulent province, 4 bombs have been exploded and a hand grenade has been hurled at a polling station in Quetta, in GRO colony. Bombs have been exploded in Quetta, Khuzdar, and Kohlu injuring more than ten people with one causality.

In Quetta and other areas of Balochistan, the voting turnout is low, and hopes aren’t much high for a greater turnout. Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has threatened the voters and warned them to not to vote, whereas the nationalist parties who are a part of anti-everything alliance APDM has also asked the people to abstain from voting.

Balochistan always has been ruled by the coalition government, and it seems that this time, if elections succeed in posing any serious turnout than once again a weak coalition government would be formed.
