Balochistan after death of Akbar Bugti

Initially it was stated that Nawab Bugti was killed during a fight between his men and security agencies while later on, when demands of showing his body raised, it was said that he died when his mountain hideout caved in due to an internal explosion.
Going against the rituals, his face wasn’t showed for the last time and he was buried in a sealed coffin.
Nawab Bugti may not be considered as an ideal leader, nor he made any claims about that. With all of his humane faults he was respected amongst his tribe. Tribal culture is totally different from the culture that we have in other parts of the country and it is very difficult to change mindset of those people. They are free people, answerable only to their chieftain. Unfortunately, our governments of past and present have either applied brute force instead of dealing through talks and negotiations or tried to exploit one tribe against the other. This has resulted in negative feelings against the state in general.
Contrary to government’s beliefs that Nawab Bugti’s death will impose writ of state in Balochistan, resistance has spread far and wide in the province. Bomb blasts, explosions, attacks on security forces and government properties are in daily routine now. News from Balochistan seems to be coming from Afghanistan or Kashmir were oppressed forces are killing the natives.
