Ambiguity Still Persists
A heavy mandate was given by the hapless people of Pakistan on 18th February to Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim Leauge Nawaz. Even ANP has bathed in the sunlight of that mandate. This mandate was basically anti-Musharraf but that simple point is not being grasped by the leaders of PPP.
Nawaz Sharif is bang on the target and has straightforwardly rallied behind the cause of judiciary and other issues related to war on terror and the fate of President Pervez Musharraf. But the stance of PPP was and is very ambiguous in this regard.
PPP has faced the brunt in the elections of this ambiguous stance and they have just got the vote of sympathy after the ghastly assassination of their leader Benazir Bhutto on 27th December outside Liaquat Bagh Rawalpindi.
PPP needs to wake up and revamp their strategy and if they remain ambiguous and confused then time will leave them behind like a trail of dust.
