Alcohol Consumption and Export

I was shocked to learn that Pakistan earns over 200 million dollars from alcohol exports. A country that earns this amount of haram money wants to see peace through this gross act of disobedience to Allah. People, it seems, do not understand the consequences that result from earning haram. There is the outward success with haram, something that can be seen, and there are the problems that result from haram, which cannot be seen, so people continue with haram and actually talk in favour of it.

First of all to say that alcohol should be exported only for the consumption of non-muslims is only fooling oneself. Should every alcoholic store carry a sign saying for non-muslims only, or will every person who enters the store have to show a piece of ID? Here is another question. Should Pakistan also sell drugs openly only for non-muslims?

For a muslim, this life is a test, and Allah has sent us here for very short period of time with rules on how to live for a happy life. Allah in his infinite wisdom, has forbidden those things that would absolutely wreck human life, and one of them is alcohol.

Allah has promised great rewards in heaven for those who don’t drink alcohol in the Holy Quran, with the pure alcohol of heaven, one drop of which, if dripped on earth, would fill the entire earth with fragrance till the day of judgement. Similarly, the people who drink alcohol will be punished in hell. They will be made to drink the boiling water of pus, which will come out with their intestines.

A person cannot enjoy life through sins, because it only attracts nahoosat, and that results in unnecessary problems. How can a person enjoy life when he is covered in a sea of problems? Does man think he can enjoy life by indulging in the biggest sin after murder? Does man think that he can enjoy life while bringing the wrath of Allah upon him?

Exporting alcohol and drinking it has only brought the wrath of Allah, as can be seen. Only when the exportation and consumption of alcohol stops will barakah descend and will this country see peace.

It is the root cause of all evil. A catalyst into disbelief and chaos. Complete annhilation of health and relations. Even the gooras now have realized the worse effects of alcohol. The proverb related to one glass of wine has now been eliminated since it has more bad effects to health than good ones. so I think muslims should also follow suite. I am sure that the guys drinking do it out of curiosity and then stick to it all their lives. The best way to part would be to part from drinking buddies.

How do you know that the exported alcohol will be used for drinking (and not for medicinal or industrial purpose?)

“Only when the exportation and consumption of alcohol stops will barakah descend and will this country see peace”. No country will see peace, even if it bans alcohol consumption and its export. The USA & India tried it, and the experiment ended in chaos, with thousands of people dying due to drinking alcohol made in illegal distilleries.

“Nahoosat” and “barakah” are arabic words which cannot be understood by non-muslims who may want to read your posts. Why don’t you write translations of such words? Is it because you want to show off that you are a great Islamic scholar?

i challenge you guys to do a research on prohibition.

Read interviews by un-named staff of Johhny Walker International. They make their BIGGEST (and i mean HUUUGE) revenue from countries like Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Iran –3 countries where alcohol is publicly prohibited.

Where there is prohibition, there are problems. Now I dont want you to think I want Pakistani (Muslims) to support drinking. Drinking is prohibited in our religion for a reason — it is injurious to the health and causes people to do/say things they would normally not do/say.

But i also believe in ‘’live and let live'’

if Muslims WANT to drink alcohol –let them drink it. Fine by me. Doesnt affect me in any way or form. Who are we to judge.

That said — this is all a tangent. The article is about alcohol EXPORT. And i have already outlined that this is a serious potential avenue for business development, investment and employment.

nobody is forcing anybody to drink. Its all business –supply and demand. Ours is a beautiful country endowed by fresh fertile land and good crops. Why shouldnt we capitalize?? It will help create a favourable balance-of-payments and help foreign reserves.

200-300 million dollars a year (just from this sector) is a lot of money.

the religious/conservative people shouldnt give me a difficult time. I prefer them to target the real kaffirs —- those who blow up mosques, 5-star hotels (killing Muslims who are at iftaar dinner), and blowing up girls schools in Bajaur agency.

i rest my case. Love me or hate me…

Should Pakistan continue exporting alcohol? It could be said that alcohol can be exported for non-muslims. But then, muslims would drink it too. Now, we could say that it is a matter of choice. Whether a muslim drinks or not is none of anyone’s business. Should the West ban it? The argument against banning alcohol could be that nothing banned ever dissapears.Lets begin by taking a look at other vices in the West. Lets take the examples of prostitution and drugs. Marijuana seems to be as common as cigarettes these days. Prostitutes can be found anywhere. Prostitution and drugs is everywhere. However, both are banned. It is due to the recognition that both are vices. So, the West took the step to go ahead and make both these things illegal. As far as exporting drugs and women is concerned, it is done illegally by a lot of countries but surely no one says that it is okay to export these for non-muslims or that if muslims indulge in these two vices it is none of anyone’s business. If a person, muslim or non-muslim, drinks alcohol and kills someone in a road accident, would it not be anyone’s business? The person killed could be your family member. If a person drinks and beats his wife everyday under its influence is it no one’s business? If mothers are crying tears of blood after having lost sons who died due to liver failures is it no one’s business? Ayub, exporting alcohol is not going to work because as I have mentioned many times, haram money does not benefit. You should go back and read my first paragraph. Mr Lakhani, people dying by drinking alcohol made in illegal distilleries does not mean that alcohol should not be banned. There are people who commit incest when they can’t find prostitutes. Should prostitution be made legal? At the same time, I’m sure you know that over 200 dollars worth of alcohol isn’t all going to be used for medicinal or industrial purposes. In fact. only a small fraction of that will be used for these purposes. We all know very well how the rest will be used.

Did you already do a search on Google about wine and heart?
    http://www.healthcastle.com/redwine-heart.shtml
    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21478144/
    http://www.cnn.com/HEALTH/heart/9907/06/wine.heart/

And so much others! (more than 64 000 000 results).

In France, they drink almost every day and the wine is almost cheaper than water.

In Quebec, we drink beer and for what I know, it is going well in our society multi-etchnic. This can cause trouble, but the gouvernement are doing lot of publicity for the moderation. That’s remove stress too sometime.

You should let drink who want drink. This should not kill anybody.

Is your last sentence meant to be a joke? Do you not know how many people die in drunk driven accidents where drivers kill themselves and other innocent people? Have you never heard of deaths due to liver failure? Please also read my previous comment and also
