Advantages of Blogging
Though the name “Blog” sounds ugly and not that smart and attractive, the concept has taken the world by storm. Everybody is blogging now. Like email address, everybody has a blog address now.
Blogging is all about niche and personal touch. It is a unique intimate media. According to Phil van Allen, a faculty member of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, said in an interview, “For your career, a blog is essential. It’s the new public relations and it’s the new home page. Instead of a static home page, you have your blog. It’s a way to let people know what you are thinking about the field that interests you.”
If you are a serious netizen, its virtually unlikely that you haven’t got a blog or not thinking about getting one. Blogging could be very crucial in your career too. You could control your web presence with the help of your own blog. You could erect a blog and put your desired information in it. Employers, after getting your resume, often Google you out, and if they see your blog (read your personality and ideas in your own words), they are bound to get impressed and convinced.
So blogging makes you stand out and apart from the crowd. The visibility you achieve through your blog leaves a positive and refreshing effect on your name-searchers or vanity searchers for that matter.
But to keep your net presence meaningful, useful, and positive, you have to be on your toes, you should be focused and you should keep a strict check on your online attitude. You must have a guiding philosophy and you should stick to it. You have to have your niche defined for you.
So take advantage of your blog and build a network from it. By posting regularly on your blog, you train yourself in a powerful and turbo-charging way. You could bring your professional experience to your blog, and by sharing it with others not only benefit the community but also polish your own skills.
