A Long Way To Go
We are a nation full of potential and promise. We have got resources both in terms of natural and man power. We are progressing, but we need to fix some crucial glitches.
Our infrastructure is still very rickety. We haven’t got smooth roads and planned towns and cities. We haven’t got any efficient power management. We haven’t got a firm and stable educational system and we haven’t got any professional institutes to churn out some serious skilled persons.
We needn’t go very far. Just look at our neighbor in the north. China is our neighbor for the last 60 years or so, but their is a mammoth difference between our progress. The lack of progress is so visible in here.
It wouldn’t be so noticeable if Pakistan’s information gurus hadn’t raise ed expectations so high. In the current discussions about the forth coming budget, if you listen to the treasury figures, they boast of achieving some golden milestones, which only they can see.
In comparison with China, some say that their development and progress owes to their authoritarian style of government. Chinese government, if wants to build a factory, they decide it in this moment, and start building it in the next. But in a system like ours, one has to go through many channels, and have to win over many people, not to forget the red tapes.
We should create an environment where everyone is determined and hopeful to achieve success. We need to build up a momentum of hope and dynamism. We are fascinating, exciting and full of stories, but now is the time that we formulate those stories into the real world facts.
